The WLS Interceptor and patented Reconciler systems are designed to automatically reject labels prior to application to a container if they failed inspection. This technology eliminates the application of a known rejected label onto good product, and can be integrated into WLS' RL, VR and HR Series labelers.

The Interceptor is used on WLS labelers that do not incorporate a vacuum drum for label application. The label head peel plate assembly design does not allow a rejected label to be applied to a container. The rejected label stays on the liner, its presence is verified and total label rejects can be reconciled by inspecting the rewound liner at the end of a shift.

The Reconciler is used on WLS labelers that incorporate a vacuum drum for label application. The Reconciler removes rejected labels from the drum prior to application and places them back-to-back on a separate liner. Rejected label absence on the drum is verified and total label rejects can be reconciled by inspecting the rewound liner at the end of a shift.

The Reconciler can be configured with a Label Assurance option where, if a label is rejected, the labeler slows down and a container is not presented to the missing label position. This option ensures that every container is labeled with an accepted label and no unlabeled product is passed through for later rejection, thus increasing OEE.
